After Sophia took the title of champion, Guzma called it quits as the leader of Team Skull and told her he was going to disband. Imagine his surprise when she, the one who had beat him at every turn and helped free him from the abusive relationship with Lusumine, yelled at him to not quit. She knew there was a lot of people in Alola that relied on Team Skull for a place to belong, people and kids who had been tossed out or had no where to go. Being from Kalos, she told him how she's seen real evil in Team Flair and how the Skulls were far from evil. She convinced him to reform the team, who better to help Alola heal than the most broken? Team Skull became the new Alolan pokemon rangers, and Sophia let him know she worked so hard to help them because she felt he deserved to be happy. She shows him how to be a better person, while still not losing what made him her boi.
