A commission from the amazing
CRYSALIA of a new character that she was a massive help in designing. Check out her original here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39559234/
A super-alter of Marie, Catchcat! A less than upstanding, spider-powered thief who more often than not just does what she wants, but has enough of a heart to not steal from good people and will work with goody-goods if it's convenient.
(Also a cameo by
Neonstargazer Nylon, because I'm too much of a hack to not include friend's characters...)

The museum was completely silent, save for the occasional footsteps of a security guard patrolling the halls. The place had been a hive of activity just hours before thanks to the museum’s newest addition: The Fist of the King. It was a large, un-cut ruby clenched in a golden fist on loan from a private collector. Everyone had flocked to see the thing during the day, it had practically tripled attendance in a day, but now everything was just as quiet and lifeless as always. The guards were almost thankful there would not be anyone else entering the museum today.

A lone security guard was doing a sweep of the east wing, where the various jewel and mineral artifacts were. The green-striped zebra mare swept her flashlight beam left then right, looking for anything out of the ordinary. She lifted a walkie-talkie to her face and spoke into it. “I’m going to do a pass of the Fist of Kings.” Once she heard the crackling affirmative, she went on her way towards the statue, completely oblivious that she was being followed.
From within the deep shadows cast on the ceiling, icy blue eyes watched the security guard’s every move. Catchcat crawled along the ceiling, her fingers and paws effortlessly clinging to the surface as easily as if she were on the ground, staying submerged in shadow. She followed the guard into a smaller hall where the fist and many other jewels were being displayed. As the guard walked a circuit around the hall, she perched in a corner above the fist and waited, smiling to herself.
Once the guard had finished her patrol, she stood next to the Fist of the King and once more spoke into her walkie-talkie, “All clear, here.” As soon as Catchcat heard the garbled ‘Roger that’ from the walkie talkie, she pounced. She leapt down behind the guard and purred, “Hi there~”
The guard jumped and whirled around, dropping her flashlight. “Who ar- Mmph!?” Her brief shout of surprise was quickly muffled by Catchcat grabbing her and pulling her into a kiss. If she was surprised before, it was nothing to what she felt now as she started to wriggle and push against her assailant. However, her struggles started to die down immediately until she was standing calmly, with swirls of purple and blue in her eyes and a dopey, content look on her face.
“There, that’s better~” Catchcat purred as she saw her hypnotic venom take hold of the security guard. “Now you’re going to be a good girl, no yelling or getting help ok?” The security guard nodded, her expression never changing from a half lucid smile. Catchcat returned the smile with a sensual stroke of the guard’s chin. “Now just one more thing~”
She lifted the guard off the floor without much effort. The guard’s expression didn’t change as Catchcat’s bushy tail waved into view and began to wrap around the mare’s ankles. Thick white silk trailed from its tip and as it worked its way around the guard’s legs, more and more silk began to cling to her form. Catchcat expertly pulled and cinched the silk, slowly building a tight cocoon around the security guard. She winked as she crossed the guard’s arms over her chest, wrapping them over with silk as well and giving her the appearance of an Egyptian mummy. With one last sweep of her tail, she stuck large patches of silk over the guard’s eyes and mouth so that even once the venom wore off, she’d be out of the way.
Catchcat set the guard down by the display case for the Fist of Kings and then stood up to inspect the case. Her eyes paused on a small plaque with a blurb about the donor of the statue that made her scoff, “Generous and altruistic? Please… The only thing generous about him is the number of people he's stabbed in the back...”
***
An hour later, she sat on a rooftop across town admiring the statue. She sighed and spoke to the statue, “How is it that guys like that end up with beauties they don’t deserve like you?” She stowed the statue away before she stood up and sauntered off muttering, “Well, at least now we can find you a better home. My mantle maybe~”
