Although it may not be possible to rebuild what is broken, the pieces nonetheless can make for a strong foundation for something marvelous. Take the Roman roads for example. From a well arranged foundation they built an empire that shaped history for centuries.

Both the city and the (major) roads its people created are still mostly in existence today. As such they are testament to the perseverence I was referring to.
