commission #319 Starfall
commission for
Starfall (Zara Sabir, aka. Experiment 237)
(History)
Starfall began her superhero career by falling from the night’s sky while stopping a meteorite that would have destroyed Bright City. Hailed as an alien from another world that has come to protect Earth, few question why Starfall looks so human.
In reality, Starfall was the result of an experimental genetics program on Mars. Created by an eccentric evil scientist, Professor White, Starfall was designed to be the first of many super-powered enforcers that would help him take over the world. Luckily for Earth, Professor White’s assistant was actually a secret agent who had been sent to sabotage his plans by UPO (The United Peacekeeping Organization).
Agent 56 manipulated Starfall’s education program to turn her into a sweet innocent girl instead of the killer she was originally intended to be.
But Professor White eventually discovered Agent 56 and destroyed his secret Mars base in the ensuing fight. The “meteorite” that Starfall stopped was actually a large chunk of White’s Mars base.
Once on Earth, Starfall was taken in by the UPO which was a international league of Superheros and secret agents that organized in the early 1800’s to fight against a growing population of supervillains that threatened to destabilize the world.
Mentored under one of the greatest superheroes of all time, “Ultrawoman,” Starfall learned how to use her powers responsibly and eventually was allowed to join a squad of young superheroes under UPO’s super-youth training program. Her team consisted of the brash and patriotic Stars and Stripes, the enigmatic Lizarian, and the deadly Nightshade.
Starfall was far more innocent than her partners but was also stubborn as well, often making it difficult to work with her when she disagreed with a decision.
Following her graduation from the super-youth training program Starfall moved to Bright City where she took on the name Zara Sabir. Since then she has been hell-bent on finally leading a semblance of a normal life while occasionally saving the day.
However, tech from White’s Mars Base was scattered all throughout the city during her fall to Earth creating an influx of evil super scientists, mutants, and visiting aliens that Starfall always seems to have to fight off.
(Personality)
Starfall is a stubborn but innocent girl with a good heart. Despite the fact that she was intended to be a weapon of destruction Agent 56’s education program taught her to see the good in most people and to always have hope for the future.
Desperately wanting to lead a normal life that she’d been denied during her upbringing on Mars, Starfall does her best to cling to any semblance of a normal life. She just wants to have a meaningful stress free job, a decent apartment, a nice boyfriend, and a little spending money on the side.
But because she has had everything provided for her for most of her life, either by Professor White or UPO, Starfall is often adamant that she should create this life for herself and by herself. This has led her to a number of money problems as her double-life as a superhero makes it difficult to hold down a job. Despite this, she routinely turns down Nightshade’s offer to pay her rent.
This stubborn streak can make her difficult to work with on a team as she’s often known to dig in her heels on a decision if she thinks it’s right.
(Equipment and Powers)
As a genetically enhanced human, Starfall has incredible strength, speed, and endurance. While her physical abilities are not as powerful as other superheroes that specialize in one specific aspect, such as speedsters, her well rounded powers often make her more than a match for any foe.
Starfall is strong enough to stop a falling chunk of Professor White’s Mars base which is a feat few other supers can replicate. She can outmanoeuvre most powerhouses and can manage to visually track, though not keep up with, most speedsters. And Starfall’s resilience has allowed her to walk out from under collapsing buildings and survive numerous death rays that would have otherwise crushed or fried many other superheroes.
However, Starfall lacks many of the other unique abilities that make her fellow heroes so popular. Limited by Professor White’s genetic design Starfall often has to use her wit and willpower to get around situations that can’t be solved with brute force.
Starfall’s white and gold laced costume is a self-repairing nano-fiber that emits a strange mind-altering aura that somehow prevents people from being able to recognize her when she’s not wearing it. On her chest is a dark star shaped emblem that twinkles like the night’s sky. This emblem is actually an indestructible piece of metal that was created by Professor White which was eventually supposed to create a powerful suit of armor for Starfall. When attached to her suit it generates a strange spatial distortion that seems to deny all existing laws of physics and allows her to fly. However, the emblem and the suit’s mind-altering abilities can falter when the suit is damaged.
Another aspect of Starfall’s biology that was designed by Professor White is the fact that she is considered a universal-breeder. This odd inclusion into her DNA allows her to be impregnated by nearly any biological lifeform capable of sexual reproduction. According to Agent 56’s reports this was part of his plan to send individual super warriors to infiltrate Earth and other planets, breed with their population, and create armies of loyal offspring to facilitate its incorporation into the Professor’s new galactic empire.

Starfall thinks magic is neat and doesn't have any real problem with magic-users. But she HATES fighting them and will often try to avoid UPO assignments that deal with magical villains. She's more of a brute force fighter and magic users tend to have all kinds of tricks and special ways of dealing with them that she's usually not equipped to handle.
