Actually. Taking a pose is not stealing. You think you had that particular pose first? I'll bet there was already one looking almost exactly like that somewhere else out there. Poses are not, nor will they ever be copyright, so there is no sense in claiming theft.
Yes, it would be proper to credit the fact that he utilized your picture as a reference for creating this one. But this picture is legitimate for this site.
The only way an image is in violation is if it is an actual copy, meaning a tracing of the image to the point that the lines all match up almost perfectly.
So he used your pose as a reference. Next time send a note and ask him to make sure to mention where he was utilizing that pose from. New artists often need something to be able to guide them along, rather than someone ripping them to pieces over the use of a similar pose.

lol I understand, guy. And I agree; it's actually why I stagnate on my art so much. I see everything's been done, and I wanna put something out that stands out, so I sit in front of a half-scribbled on canvas racking my brain.
Thing is that everything that you can think of; it's been done. the body has only so many ways it can be posed, and even hyperextension has its limits. So worrying about originality shouldn't be an issue.
Just do the best that you yourself can do. As far as all of this, a simple homage to the original, and it's all good! Note the lines that you used to create this, and use that knowledge to guide your hand in future pieces. The technique, the ideas... Learn from the concept, integrate it, and grow.
Really, it's been settled already, and I said my say on it, which was more on the situation itself than you directly, didn't mean to offend you, if I did. It's all good, ya know?

Hmm, Dam, I hate drama as much as you do, but I have to say my part on this one.
It might not be traced line for line, but it was very heavily ripped from Forgewielder's original pic. It even boils down to the fact that the character in this pic and the one that Wielder did from Castlevania are both whip-wielding vampire hunters.
There are no copyrights on poses. But in a case like this, it's more of a set on originality and standards. It'd be like if I saw that you'd posted a story that took you a while to pump out, and posted it word for word, save changing the names of characters and locations on my own page.
It could be a homage to Wielder's pic, but there was no mention of it, or any indication that Vegex would mention it until Wielder confronted him on it.
If anything, I'm rather disappointed in the way that Wielder was jumped on, when he was in the right to show disdain over such a situation. I do agree that he could've handled it better, but this should've never had happened in the first place. The pic was obviously a redone version of Wielder's original, and though it's a flattering thing to do, the fact that the original creator wasn't even mentioned at all shows great fault.

It reminded me a lot of this, which I really didn't like how it was handled. Wielder didn't choose to blow it out of proportion like what was the case here; he went straight to the source and confronted Vegex in the wake of the issue. In Zaush's case, the person that copied his original pic took it a step further and tried to accuse Zaush of stealing 'his' art. Vegex didn't state such a thing, and he did mention that he borrowed the pose. But the way it's coming off with the responses to their confrontation is that it's okay to promote pics that resemble other pics without giving homage to the original. If Vegex did happen to come up with his own pose, and it had similarities to Wielders, and was this way by sheer coincidence, I could see, but everything points to the fact that Vegex did get the idea from Wielders pic and simply added his own flair to it, but didn't bother to mention it.
So, long-winded thing short, it's okay that Vegex did this, just not okay if he doesn't pay homage to the original.

ok guy i understand that you are upset that a pose you might have originaly came up with got used. you dont need to go crazy with your flaming all you had to do was ask nicely and do it thru personal messages instead you have chosen to show how much of an ass you are by not only insulting someone who is trying to perfect their art. a pose is not something that can be copyrighted or really stolen to be technicle about it. how many 69 pictures are there? how many pictures are there with a chartcer holding a sword a paricular way? you say that he stole your pose and perhaps he did use it but you are totally overreacting to this. perhaps instead of instantly demanding he take it down you could have asked that he give you credit for the pose. and i know i have seen that particular pose from somewhere else before you drew it. maybe it was on one of the castlevania game packages so it was you who stole the pose first. i dont appreciate or tolerate flamers especialy when the person getting flamed was drawing something for my love. you are so full of your own crap that you cant take a few seconds to show kindness to someone else so get over yourself and calm down instead of threating that god will kill a baby. you are pathetic just pathetic. you have to be 9 years old. actually on second thought thats an insult to 9 year olds. how pathetic you are to be unable to appreciate a compiment to your art when it is before you. what a sad person you are.
your wording was not in a joking matter and it was apparnt that it wasnt a joke based upon the respones of vegex. you tried to make yourself feel bigger by belittling someone else. my blood pressure is fine. i just hate people who try to make themselves feel more important by slamming others. you made a personal matter a public one.
He did come off wrong in the beginning, but he handled it pretty well, in the end. Both Wielder and Vegex agreed that Vegex should've paid homage to the original pic, and that it was settled pretty much for everybody to see.
Vegex's all good, Wielder's all good; it's all good! No fuss, no muss.

it is easy to laugh at someone else when the matter it is not you being hurt. though i dont know vegex personally i dont like people to get flamed for no reason instead of taking a few seconds to be nice about something he chose instead to completely flame him about something when it could have easily been noted. consider the feelings of others before one's own. treat them as you would desire to be treated. look not at this as an attack or defense but as a lesson in growing up for the better of the furry/human society
Of course not Fenrir, it's absolutely silly, which is why it's fun, there are no emotions tied to it for me (not that I don't empathize with that situation), and Vegex does love his comments, so I can have a little fun and bolster up Vegex when he's not feelin too hot.
you can say what you want but when you actually look at your comments then you realize that it wasn't done as a joke you are only saying that now to save face. i do what i feel is right and i stick by my decisions you can try and say that i have no sense of humor but it is you who have a warped sense of humor and instead finds enjoyment in tormentings someone who made a mistake. say what you will about me i have been through a lot worst than you can muster to throw at me.
you must either think i am oblivous or completely ignorant over your comments and to whom they relate. i stood up for vegex whom i consider a friend. if you know vegex then why did you do nothing to attempt to defend him or do you care so little for people that you know that they mean nothing to you?
