A friendly face returns. It's been a while since we've seen him hasn't it?

I honestly think Rick might understand where Rain is coming from, and I think if Rain either broke down or just straight up told Rick everything, he as a calm bi bear dad might be understanding.
Lot's of older bi guys are generally chill and understanding, because they've been through the spin cycle already, so hopefully he at least keeps a basic friendship with Rick.

So having reread the entire comic, I'm firmly on team Rain here. Did he fuck up? Sure. But Tim and Garret aren't innocent here. Rain was only dating Nora for one to two months. Either of them could have asked him out at any point in the last half decade plus but neither did. Garret in fact actively lied to Rain for YEARS to make him think he wasn't interested in him romantically, and only revealed he was in the last two weeks, when Rain was still together with Nora.
As for Tim, sure I feel bad for him, but in the last weeks he: attempted and backed out from confessing to Rain multiple times, admitted he prefered pining for Rain over getting turned down, and sexually assualted him while he was sloshed. He claims he's not fragile and could have taken being turned down, but he never actually took the plunge himself and now blames Rain for not turning him down, even though its completely reasonable that Rain wouldn't want to make things awkward or ruin their friendship.
And going back to Garret...I feel for him, but, unlike Tim, Rain didn't actually know Garret was attracted to him romantically. He just kept hoping Rain would wake up one day and not be straight and fall in love with him. He could have confessed his real feeling at any time but he was so afraid it would ruin their friendship, which is the exact same thing he's blaming Rain for. And neither that or the bullying excuses the fact that he's acted violently towards both Tim and now Rain.
Both of them accuse Rain of toying with them and playing with their feelings, but he just wanted things to change while neither of them were brave enough to be honest or tell him how they really felt. Either of them could have ended it at any time, but didn't. When Rain was in a similar situation with Garret a few pages ago he did the hard thing, the right thing, of telling Garret the truth. This entire time Rain was worried about their feelings (and yes, his own), but they were only worried about hurting themselves and not about the situation they were putting their best friend in. Not to mention the strain it put on their relationship with each other. Especially since both of them had years to do something and only decided to reveal how they really felt when he was a) in a relationship or b) right after a really bad breakup.
So yeah, I feel bad for them, but Rain doesn't deserve all the blame here, and he definitely doesn't deserve getting punched in the face or shamed. Honestly, of all the characters the one he actually hurt was Rick, and he obviously doesn't blame Rain. They had just as much autonamy and thus share in the blame.
