Last night, I finally tried out coloring. I used coloring pencils for this (obviously).
I do not like how this turned out much at all. The pencild I have are fine, but I guess I'll have to find Herick's actual colors in pencils, since I can't seem to blend them very well. If anyone has any tips for blending coloring pencils to get a smooth color, please share your knowledge with me.
I actually did not use the origional piece to do this (thank goodness). I traced the origional onto another piece of paper, and did it that way. I'm not sure I like coloring pencils too much, so I'm gonna try this again, but with oil pastels instead. I have a much better variety of colors in pastels, and I'm hoping that they will blend more smoothly. If I like the outcome of the pastels, I will then color the origional in my sketchbook (perhaps).
This piece will go into scraps once I get the results I want.
Anyway, my first colored piece in years! Woo!
