what kind of training you guys do? do you guys get to brun down abondoned buildings, and do fake rescues and stuff? i got to do that a couple times. pretty fun

This time around it was just SCBA drills. Run a charged 50 foot hose out, drag a guy about 20 or 30 feet to safety, plus 50 axe swings in full gear. The guys here, including myself are all volunteers. There's one or two guys who actually are going to fire school.

My fire training was from the Navy. In that training, the set a engine room mockup on fire, and it's our job on board ship to put it out and conduct damage assessment. I just volunteered for the fire department because I'm on shore duty and it felt like a natural thing to do.

Tell you what, it's a helluva workout

any of them going to fire accademy in Texas? my brother went there for that.

No to the Texas thing. We are in Merritt Island, Florida. They all attend Brevard Com. College's Fire Academy. As for liking it, I fucking love it ^^
