Nightmare Moon had returned and with her, the promise of eternal night. Twilight and the girls needed time to form a plan. Unfortunately for them, time was not something they had plenty of. They can count their blessings that Spike was more than willing to buy them more than enough time. After all, a thousand years sealed away, unable to take care of any 'urges', would have made anyone a bit crazy.
