Anthro Dire wolf tries to persuade you into drinking blood so you can become ONE OF THEM :O
Can you feel the peer pressure? X3
SKETCH: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3950165/
Fun experiment. I was craving to draw something slightly more realistic than my last uploads. I mostly wanted to try a few new supplies and try my hand at a dire wolf: smaller ears, wider set head/features. I usually dont draw such central compositions and try to avoid it, but I wanted something a bit more bold and an excuse to make wide flowy hair ala Mucha X3
Special thanks to my boyfriend who posed for me with a dinky bowl with cranberry juice in it(to imitate the blood) X3
6"x6" on illustration board of awesome.
watercolor, colored pencil, gouache, boyfriend, cranberry juice and direwolf skulls :B
For the Anthrocon Artshow.
*flails arms, runs around in a panic oncemore and goes back to drawing*

lol i suppose, there isnt that many ways in being original when rendering fur with the watercolor/colored pencil technique.
and in terms of subject matter I concluded its close to impossible to be original when drawing anthro wolves anymore. Everythings been done, so I dont really bother trying to be different :P

just noting that incase you didnt read the description 9.9
They had much wider set faces. And additionally, there was no way of knowing WHAT their ears looked like so I made them smaller out of artistic choice since its a larger animal thank the grey wolf :)
Not claiming im an expert at reconstructive anatomy or anything, but pointing those things out :)

People are quick to point out minor negative things in your work for some reason. What the hell is with that?
In reference to Goldenwolf, I should take it as a compliment! None can draw a werewolf without pointing to SOME artist. Your work is clearly unique, as soon as I saw it, I knew it was yours without reading your name.
You put so much effort into your work and it really does show, its gorgeous

It's so beautiful, and the plot the picture sends out is, amazing. I just want to reach out and take the bowl that's being offered... The eyes of knowledge and appraisal, the slight smile in knowing what's to come.. and the mystery it puts the viewers in of why exactly he's offering it to them, or to the person's point of view in the drawing.
It's just simply magnificent.
