Jalyss started life as (of all things) a Neopet way way back in 2001/2002, back when I was first learning to draw. I was really into Neopets at the time and Neopet-related things took up the bulk of my drawings. Jalyss in particular was one of my favourite characters to draw.

As time went on, my drawing style of Jalyss changed. Her clothing changed, she went from quadraped to biped (And even breifly went from Digitigrade to Plantigrade footing)

However, my interest in Neopets slowly waned, but I still wanted to use the character. So Jalyss went through an overhaul, and I created a brand new species known as the "Basti", an alien race of shapeshifters. This allowed me to keep drawing Jalyss and excersize my creative fictional biology muscles.

When I decided to do Faulty Logic, I decided to take my favourite two fictional characters and simply have them star in the comic, Fox and Jalyss. They were already comic foils to one another and they served the whole premise of the comic very well. Jalyss was promoted from character to personna, and the comic went underway with its new stars.

Officially I've never renounced Jalyss's shapeshifting abilities, although they have certainly gone unmentioned for a very long time.

Jalyss has undergone more evolution than any other character I've made, both physically and mentally, and it's far from over. For the revival of Faulty Logic I've been working hard on redesigning Jalyss and her wardrobe yet again. I'm not ready to release an image of her just yet, but you'll see one in the future.
