Black and white lineart of the current leader of the druidic revolutionaries, the Lieshacite Coveners, Saraid Jhennir!
Saraid is a maned wolf Arkborne aged 34 in human years. Relentlessly stubborn in the face of the Simuraroc's fascism in the nation of Aerenas, Saraid is a revolutionary, and by their definition, a wanted criminal. Pursued by the local militias and governments of Aerenas for treason and heresy, words ascribed to those fighting for equal rights for Dhenbloods and the marginalized, Saraid uses her energizing influence and charisma to win over followers to her movement, while using her druidic ability to shapeshift into various beasts to elude the authorities and bounty hunters. Saraid also fights a battle within her own movement, as the moral superiority of their revolution is being undermined by milquetoast centrists looking to appease the Simuraroc with the fallacy of equivalency between their beliefs.
Saraid seeks out Ljokii, the son of her druidic instructor Jaetira, in order to energize her cause and inspire him into fighting for what he and they all ultimately believe in. With her two loyal followers and druids Gusccio and Mhesan at her side, Saraid fights the good fight and maintains the spirits of her compatriots through sheer force of will and her competent fighting abilities. She uses a fighting style akin to Jeet Kune Do, her fists and feet striking foes like the cracks of a whip, and often changes form into different animals to gain the upper hand over opponents. She channels her beastly druidic energies through her special staff, Baerelayn, modified into a pair of long-handled nunchuks.
Saraid's favorite and most familiar form she takes is of a 6-limbed sleek predator known in Parageia as a Rootwraith, tiger-sized creatures that are both excellent hunters and intelligent beasts capable of illusionary and nature-based magics used to ensnare prey. The twist about Saraid is that while she takes the form of a Rootwraith, Ljokii eventually learns that the real Saraid was murdered at a rally by Simuraroc nationalists, and her death was covered up by her own politician father Toresk...and rather, "Saraid" is a Rootwraith that took the form of the woman he knows, who is seeking vengeance against those who wronged her and her mentor. Regardless, they are consenting lovers and partners, which technically makes Ljokii and Saraid an interspecies couple.
