this one looks like it was painted with either a brush. Or it could have been rattlecanned.

LOL! No kidding! XD Cracks me up when I see guys painting their "JDM" US-made Toyota Corolla flat black. Oh well.. to each his own. Had a guy trying to convince me to sell my Thunderbird and "Go JDM" last night on here that made me laugh (considering I have owned an import and loved it before and I am open to any car if its fun). He spent a long time trying to "convert" me though. :D
There are "satin" finishes that can applied. If this is rattlecan, you'd see much more streaks. Though I can't tell in the pic. If this is rattle can, they used a lot of cans to get the coverage just right. The other problem with rattlecanning is that it tends to fade after several months as has to be re-applied. I had a car that I rattlecanned flat black and it did just that. But way back around the early 80's, I had a buddy who had an old Chevy Biscayne, and he rattlecanned it flat black and came over for a visit and parked it in our driveway in a dark shadowy area and it was night. My dad was coming home drove into the driveway and had to swerve away quickly since my buddy parked in his space. Pops came in screaming and all pissed off as to whom the jackass was who parked that @#$%in' flat black car there..!!
Then there was the time a kid ran into his Biscayne on his bicycle while it was parked under a tree on the street in the dark.
You had to be there..
