Unfortunately, just this morning my hard-drive decided it was tired of participating in a friendly way and has proceeded to slowly lose data and core OS features. For instance, my audio controller no longer activates and the Windows XP UI theme has disappeared. Weird stuff! Looks like I'm going to be using my money for a new hard-drive though... >_<

send me the old one to scrap out and receive a discount!

My Roommate had to disassemble them for a living.

For a living?? XD was someone trying to scrap platinum? er something?

No it was part of his job to destroy hard drives with sensitive info on them. and let me tell you the final process of simply dismantling them was only the end of it. it also had to be wiped clean like 4 times and then had this other program run over the hard drives to make all the info go away and then diassembled and destroyed disks

To bad, some of those drives you can get platinum from. :)
I have some programs that can do that =P sounds like a fun job.

well we have not tossed out ANYTHING from them. (the disks themselves are glass impregnated with other materials and i think i am going to make windchimes from them since they sound pretty and once being exposed to air and my grubby paws and such no longer can be read. we plan on recycling it all

I used to paint on the disks, it's pretty cool :) glad you guys can recycle it ^_^ I have old motherboards hung up for decoration :d
