Possmortum
The Living Dead Pokemon
Dark Type
2'7"
53.5lbs
Abilities: Pickup/Stench
Hidden Ability: Infiltrator
Evolves from Carcossum at level 21
Sex Ratio: 1:1
Exp. Group: Erratic, 600,000 EXP to level 100
Its belly is full of a putrid, dark colored liquid. When cornered, it forces this foul liquid from its nose and mouth and collapses, feigning death.
Possmortum is often portrayed as a surly, disease ridden, good for nothing pest but it's actually quite docile and timid. It feeds mostly on sweet fruit but has been observed eating dead Rattata, Seviper and Minccino.
When one of their kin dies, the entire group gathers to bury the body and mourn. Their screeches and wails were once believed to be signs of approaching death.

-markings on face resemble a cartoonish skull
-liquid expelled from its nose and mouth is a reference to purge fluid
-communicates with an array of hisses, screeches, shrieks, cries, moans and clicking noises
-able to remember a toxic substance's taste up to a year later
-males are called jacks, females are called jills, their young are joeys and a group is called a passel, joeys are born after less two weeks and are extremely small
-opportunistic omnivores that will eat just about anything but seem to prefer soft, sweet fruits like Nanab berries, will typically scavenge and rarely hunt
-though constantly grooming its soft fur and being a rather clean pokemon, its natural odor is said to be something like a cross between feces, twice baked garbage and rotting pork
-healthy species resistant to many diseases but predisposed to gastric torsion, if their belly feels hard to the touch, their gums and tongue are pale and they cannot vomit, take them to a Pokemon Center immediately as this condition is life threatening, lack of blood flow to the stomach can cause necrosis, leading to perforation and death
-Possmortum cannot control when they feign death, this response is triggered by intense fear and happens involuntarily, they can control the expulsion of the purge fluid like substance though
-they are nocturnal and do not create dens, instead taking refuge in places like abandoned burrows and buildings, found in and around urban areas
-Possmortum are excellent swimmers but generally dislike getting wet
