In one of the first 2006 issues of "Rowrbrazzle" - the anthropomorphic APAzine - I'd written an essay about 'Hurricane Wilma' (which arrived in late October, 2005), and included my sketch of the ficcus tree that landed in the swimming pool behind the Oriole Gardens clubhouse, here in Margate, Florida.
Since the publication was devoted to 'funny animals', I'd decided to include one drawing, to lighten the mood. Ordinarily, I'd draw 'Rob Cat', but I was too somber to render a sketch of the bobcat, so I drew a feline version of myself (complete with eyeglasses, cleft in chin, etc.). It's a front and rear pose of my cat 'fursona', wearing an apropos T-shirt. (The folks in New Orleans got the old "One-Two Punch" - first, from 'Hurricane Katrina', and then from the folks at F.E.M.A. - so, I was hoping that my part of south Florida wouldn't be in the same situation.)
As the '2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season' begins, here's hoping that nothing comes close to the magnitude of the 2005 season, and that we all don't end up wearing stolen clothes (among other catastrophes)!
