BACKGROUND
Two sisters who have always had a knack for getting into and out of trouble, Shiki and Mana are first trapped in a bottle until Aaron trips over it and he and Xavier free the two. The two fairies agree to aid the boys on their quest in the hopes of regaining something that they've lost.
PERSONALITY
Personality-wise, Shiki and Mana are basically polar opposites in almost every way. On the one hand, you have Shiki, who's the sweet, bubbly, optimistic, and outgoing red fairy. She's well-mannered and friendly, always using "Mr." or "Mrs." when talking to people and greeting almost every new friend she meets by offering them sweets. She just can't say "no" to someone who needs help, even when she really should. However, while Shiki means well, she can come across as a bit childish, naive, and gullible. In the end, though, she's just a fairy who wants to enjoy her life, and she knows what she's doing... most of the time, anyway.
On the other hand, you have Mana, the cynical, serious, intellectual, and introverted blue fairy. She's a lot nerdier and more rational than Shiki, and unlike Shiki, who tends to jump right into things with minimal preparation, Mana is more likely to overprepare for a situation instead. She also has a sarcastic wit and a blunt disposition, almost always having a smart remark to say regarding the world and people around her. However, for as snarky and cynical as she is, Mana certainly has a good heart; she likes helping those in need (especially if it pertains to the overall adventure), detests evil, is protective of her family and friends, and is often one of the more responsible characters.
ABILITIES
Shiki and Mana have a lot of abilities that will come in handy for their adventures with Xavier, Aaron, and friends.
Flight: Of course, since they're fairies, Shiki and Mana can fly and hover about for pretty much as long as they want, especially since their wings don't fatigue easily.
Super Flight Speed: Their flight speed is also amazing. Once they really kick it into high gear, they can reach speeds as high as 2000 miles per hour.
Protection/Extra-Hit Empowerment: Shiki and Mana's most helpful power basically lets them act like Sparx or Aku Aku; as long as they're hanging around an ally, said ally can take one fatal hit without damage. Shiki or Mana will disappear afterwards, and said ally might suffer some knockback, but they won't take any damage.
Invulnerability/Fusionism: Once three fairy bottles are broken, Shiki and Mana will fuse together into a single being, allowing whoever they're accompanying to take up to three otherwise fatal impacts. Break any more bottles, and they can grant temporary invincibility.
Healing: Both Shiki and Mana have the power to heal wounds.
Self-Sustenance: Since they're magical beings, Shiki and Mana don't really need much, if any oxygen, so they can survive in the vacuum of space without a suit.
Bubble Projection: To travel underwater, Shiki and Mana can project bubbles around themselves, allowing them to fly freely without getting their wings wet.
Energy Projection: On the rare occasion where they have to go out on their own, Shiki and Mana can defend themselves using an energy projectile called the Firefly Shot. While this is useful for taking out smaller enemies, this does little more than annoy larger, stronger adversaries.
WEAKNESSES
Shiki can be a bit naive, and Mana can be a tad opinionated. Meanwhile, both of them can be rendered helpless by metal and dark magic, and should they be trapped inside an artifact like the fairy bottles, they won't be able to escape without help. Additionally, thanks to their tiny size and lack of strength, they're not well-suited to fighting the kinds of foes Xavier and Aaron face on the regular, and their abilities are geared more toward support than direct combat.
Random Trivia:
Shiki and Mana are actually half-sisters; Mana's mom married Shiki's dad when they were little.
While they're roughly the same age, Shiki is actually five minutes older than Mana. While this minor age difference doesn't typically come up, Shiki does sometimes use it as leverage to hold off on telling Mana things "until she's older." Mana hates it when Shiki does that.
Shiki and Mana's size tends to vary depending on the needs of the picture. By default, they're roughly 8 and 10 inches tall, respectively, but some pictures and moments will involve them being bigger than usual for one reason or another.
Mana enjoys singing sometimes, though usually in private.
