nope! excepting sometimes when Los Pumas plays Rugby against megateams, aka almost always XD never a nice or bad rival, always Southafrica, Australia, Wales, New Zealand... XD

Since Canada never seems to make it into things, finding myself watching out for Denmark (because of mom's family) and your country. Other than that, mostly its just been about hockey up here, NHL in Canada and US.

It is fascinating to see the USA isn't the only country that pays tribute to important people when they die or when something happens that a large number of people die from with the half staff flags, but I don't ever recall an American athlete getting that honor

While the USA men haven't achieved much in futbol/soccer (the women sure have, though), we have had countless legends in baseball, basketball, track, gymnastics, and American Football. In fact, Jim Thorpe, who played both American football and baseball professionally in the USA, won several gold medals in track & field at the Olympics when they were held in Stockholm. The IOC revoked them when they discovered he was playing professionally in the NFL, but gave them back after his death
