Interesting, but just saying interesting isn't enough for me. It holds quite a lot of potential, actually, I don't think there is any sizable work with dragons just living in modern world with humans as just other citizens, though of course they would have a lot of their own quirks and things to consider, just like this particular cultural issue. Holds great potential and would be greatly original, I say! Even modern httyd AUs often don't feature dragons, so that would be a treat. Besides it don't even need to be httyd to be honest, fully original work would work too.

IIRC, the tumblr post I saw already had Toothless in sunglasses and a tie, so I figured I'd be funny and draw attention to his nudity :P

And yeah! It's pretty rare to find a modern story where dragons are just normal citizens, outside of furry works where species basically doesn't matter outside of what their junk looks like. Temeraire comes close, but is hampered by 1) being set during the Napoleonic Wars, and 2) having most of the dragons be absolutely MASSIVE.

Dragons being big would present interest challenge actually, though more than ten meters in length would be too much for normal interactions. And then there is variety; if every species have different size and even body type, then standardisiing anything for drahonkind would be a pain, and you would have even most adaptable, modular goods ending up with dozens of compatibile and incompatibile species wrote in description, which is why just walking around naked could be preferable regardless of norms XD
