Darkness. that was all he could see, nothing but the pitch-black nighttime darkness. He could feel the cold, wet mud on his toes as he ran on the marshy muddy grounds, it was raining all day, and it only stopped around in the afternoon, and caused the dirt ground to become ankle-deep mud. Ben shivered in his pajamas since it was November, and it was then when the nights began to become colder and wetter. He lay beside one of the trees on the grounds, crying about what happened a few moments ago.
He just got off from the shower and was getting ready for bed when he came across his classmate Daiki. Everyone in cherryton knew Daiki as Mizuchi's boyfriend. Still, they also knew him as the arrogant immature rabbit who pokes his nose in other people's business. Daiki saw Ben holding a kids manga and grabbed it out of Ben's hands and began taunting Ben about why he still liked dumb kids comics when he was only 14. Ben tried to take back his manga, but Daiki was taller than Ben and kept it out of Ben's hands. Then Daiki began to tear the page's out of the manga, and Ben was horrified by what he saw, Ben screamed at Daiki to stop, but it was too late as Daiki threw the page's out the window, scattering all over campus. That's what you get for reading childish things snarked Daiki. He walked away from Ben, who in tears at that point. Ben was horrified by what he saw, and without thinking, he ran outside onto the muddy field, getting as far away as he can from people so that he can be alone.
He had run behind a tree so that no one would see him since he didn't want people seeing him. He hated himself for acting like the way he was and that he had these peculiar interests. He also hated how people saw him and that they always treated him as if he were dumb. He wanted to sit in the cold and muddy grounds and cry alone by himself. Excuse me?..., are you okay?
Ben looked behind him and gasped!!! It was a tall grey male wolf in his uniform standing in the ankle-deep mud with a confused and concerned look on his face. Ben was struggling to speak but eventually found the courage. "Um... I don't know, can I please b.. be by myself?" said Ben quietly. "Well, I don't know if I should do that since it is a bit cold out and that you should properly head back to your dorm," said the wolf in a soft, gentle voice. "I don't know if I want to since the other animals think I'm just this mentally damaged loser," said Ben. The grey wolf thought for a moment and then spoke. If the other animals believe you're different, I could be your friend if you'd like? Said the wolf. Are you just saying that making me feel better or just so you could sound like a responsible adult? Said Ben bluntly. No, but I know what it's like to feel alone and the feeling of everyone not understanding you the way you want them to, and I think that you and I know how it feels.
Ben looked at the wolf and saw that he looked like he wanted to help, and the wolf could have stayed away from the mud to avoid being all muddy but was standing beside him, offering to help him the best way he can.
Tell you what, how about we walk back to your dorm together, and you can hold my arm, and I'll protect you from whoever is bullying you. is that okay? he asked. Ben nodded, and the wolf smiled. Thank you, but before we go. we can't let your feet get cold; now would we. Just then, the wolf lifted his leg and began taking off his shoes and socks.
What are you doing!? asked Ben. I don't want to see your feet getting cold so that you can borrow my shoes and socks; sorry if my socks smell, but they'll do you good and keep your feet warm, he said. Won't your feet get cold? Don't worry; I'm a wolf, so I'm used to the cold anyway. Ben agreed to put on the wolf's shoes and socks since he wasn't crazy about stepping into the cold mud with his bare feet. As soon as he put on the wolf's shoes, he grabbed his arm, and the two trudged out together and into the concrete path. Ben realized he didn't get the wolf's name. Sorry, but what's your name? asked Ben. Oh, my name! It's legoshi, what's yours? asked Legoshi. Ben smiled a tiny bit. I...it's Ben, he said as he rested his head onto legoshi's warm arm as the two of them walked into the dorms.
