I've been enjoying it so far, but they need to bring back some of the old cast. Show's not the same without Slappy, Skippy, Rita, Runt, Good Idea Bad Idea, and the Warners benefit from having Scratchensniff & Hello Nurse around.

So THAT'S why "Hello Nurse" Isn't in the reboot

The Fact that the creator of the show wasn't involved kind of made me steer clear of the reboot

I had already said before. I would have liked at least a try to make Minerva Mink work, in the comic she was actually fun and interestingly critic of women role in fiction and animation(parody of Xena, little mermaid and popey were surprisingly good). But no let's neuter Warners humor, replace their daddy-issue( in old show ey deconstructed b comedy dozen of authoritative paternal/patricarcal figures) with mommy issues(time for important female figures) albeit softening the jokes a little. Some new cool addition(Julia Brain...niiiice pun 😃another JB in warner broa universe...)but too little to make for a great show. Is not bad beware, just bland run of the mill cartoon. Think latest simpsons season featuring the warners. Some chuckles will come, but nothign memorable. Hopes for the second season, but moderate ones.
So far is missing opportunity expecially considering we are in post rock and morty and bojack and more and more groundbreaking toons adult and not, that just aiming for the bare minimum is kind of sad.

There is plenty of evidence that the higher ups hated the original show which is why it feels like they're Punching Down on a lot of the things that the old show used to do. There were multiple mixed messages such as Spielberg wanted the show to get MORE political and aggressive while the artists wanted to keep it kid friendly. Artists on the production side, who were excited to be apart of this and wanted a faithful adaptation, were at the mercy of these higher ups demanding some very OOC changes.

OOC things like Yakko being Dot's punching bag, or being weaker then her. His linguistics aren't as prevalent, and he's loosing more often. It's not the worst thing to do to him but more often then not, they're making him do physical humor when that wasn't ever his thing. He's doing things that Wakko would usually do, and he's failing because he's a know-it-all nerd and it's funny to make fun of him for it.

Season 2 will most likely have the same energy as this season, but the hopes is that season 3 could return all the original writers. There was a desperate cry from the staff to get Sheri Stoner back but higher ups didn't want to invite all the others. I can't in good faith enjoy this show if there isn't some attempt to work with the original writers and create a genuine heartfelt reboot of the show. There are some jokes and things that are good from this reboot but it's otherwise very empty without them.

I agree with you...and most of old timey fans too. Is not the worst thing ever, but is kind of let down compared to ducktales and indeed was kindof odd removing what makea yakko....yakko.
It never was that yakko should be stornger than dot or the opposite. Each sibling in theor specialty was the best embodiment of certain type of toon comedy. But now is all messy. And confused.

LOL, I'm still very against the incest myself but the new fans are producing A LOT more, so there is no shortage of new warnercest to be had.

I like 70% of the new series, but the remaining 30% are very noticeable...
