I see what you mean there's much more functions in After Effects but for my type of animations photoshop is okay, btw I don't even know if we can do frame by frame animation on After Effects?🤔 I must try it one day when I get more comfortable with basics ^^
I also tried TVPaint, it's very good to start frame by frame
Unfortunately this type of animation is never easy ^^'' I spent about 50 hours or even more to do 2 second of animation hahaha yep.....

And aww, no worries! I really do love it! It's my only gif icon and it holds a special place in my heart. I may swap out icons every now and then, but I feel like I will always come back to it.
