True. I mean if you want a similar effect yet don’t want the same danger, I suggest a great sword....

To be fair
It is only impractical and dangerous as long as you do not have a telekinetic control over it.
Other than that, judging for her responses on battle, as a DM and stage combat especialist myself, I would recomend one of two kind of weapons to her.
- One that really pushes her upfront strategies such as a rockethammer like Reinheart from Overwatch
- One that still uses her prefered stile of combat but pulls her back to a more defensive stance like dualwielding katar/shield/handcannons.

Yep, but if no non enemies around, she can perhaps change the sword bit on the fly to make it less dangerous to her on its way "back" in the swing.
It is after all mold able by thought, so being one thing for most of the swing, then perhaps another at the end.
Then again, i dunno if she really -need- to hold on to the sword bit/part, or if it would be better just making a new weapon.
