abilities: can dissolve into smoke, can become any species of canine instantly which includes domestic dogs (however he is never a purebred, always a mutt), smells like a wood-fire, can become an anthro-canine or a human.

looks:
- when drawn realistically or rped he is a melanistic version of whatever canine species with a blue stripe running from nose tip to 3/4 cover of the tail. the stripe look black unless the light glints off of it (like a mallard duck's head feathers or peacock feathers), then it appears a metallic cobalt.
- when drawn more cartoony or stylized he is black with a dark grey belly and a cobalt stripe.

purpose: though a smoke element may seem to be a companion of death, since fire can harm and kill, but really he is a companion of life. After a major fire life can start again and build a new.
