Update of Zach's casual clothing that he wears as a Feranthrope when he's not on a mission/heist. Not much has changed from his vol 1 design other than the fact that he's now plantigrade and wears wristbands instead of forearm bands.
Story wise, Zach always prefers sleeveless and open clothing as a Feranthrope because things like shirts restrict his movement and aren't comfortable. (Putting a shirt on when you're covered in fur is like putting a shirt on over a coat.) That said, American businesses in the ZC world typically adhere to a strict no shirt, no shoes, no service policy (cause no one wants a beast walking around their establishment scaring away customers), but since the majority of Feranthropes literally CAN'T wear shoes, there's emphasis on the no shirt rule instead. Zach gets around this by wearing the jacket and only zipping it up when going into places that aren't exactly Feranthrope friendly.
Reason he wears what he wears is because it's cheap clothing. Wardrobes become very expensive when you're a Feranthrope and, if you're not careful, it's very easy to tear through your favorite clothes! Now couple that with the fact that Feranthropes struggle to find employment, and its a recipe for having little money to waste. So stretchable material and comfort wear like sweatpants, jackets, tanktops, sandals, etc., are the go to choice for most Feranthropes, things that can endure a transformation or an accidental clawing. While 'Feranthrope Friendly' alternatives are offered via online stores (shipped from China and Japan), anything stylistic becomes expensive.
Otherwise you're looking at really stretchy material like spats that make you look like Rock Lee:
