A quick remix of Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Although I loved the whole game and pretty much every character, Frog was one who stood out to me more than most of the others. Whether it's his tragic story, his badass moments, his epic music or something else, he's a great character.
Fans of CT might recognise the scene the thumbnail is from. I could have used a much cooler part of this scene as the thumbnail but that would give it away ;)
(hint: You've recently acquired the Masamune, you've yet to face Magus and Frog's Theme is playing throughout this sequence)

*And this reminds me that FA needs to get a comment-edit setup.
This is very well done... I'm kinda wondering on how you are with remixing a tune with a different instrumentation? I've been communicating with one artist, but his comp can't handle the idea I'm going with.

Yeah, an edit comment would be great, especially if it also shows that the comment has been edited, at what time and why (like the FF does I guess)
Hmm, if by "remixing a tune with a different instrumentation" you mean a "remix" that keeps the original main aspect of the tune intact but changes a lot/all of the instruments then that's pretty easy for me to do, assuming a decent midi of said tune exists.
If not I'd have to make it from sheet music or by ear, neither of which are good ideas even for just making a normal version of the tune as (like I've said many times) I'm no musician.
In any case note me about.

The thing about it is that .midis are easy to edit and tweak, hence why I ask for midis if you want a remix. As a midi isn't actually sound I can do a lot more with it than actually sound. If the song is in a "normal" audio format I can't do much with it.
But yes, I guess I support pretty much all major module formats too (.it, .mod, .xm, .s3m, etc) seeing as I could always just use modplug tracker again like I used to before moving onto LMMS or I could use modplug to make midis. But I'm guessing that the chances of you having a module format these days of an existing song are near 0, huh?

Didn't play the Playstation or DS remakes although I've seen most of the cutscenes. I dunno though, I always through the original did very well with their "cutscenes" that were basically just the same as any other event in the game. One of the things I liked about CT was that (besides on the world map) how everything kept the same look on field, in battle and during cutscenes rather than having sudden style or graphics shifts like most RPGs have.
For that reason, along with nostalgia, I'll probably always prefer the original scenes to the FMV versions. But yeah, enough of me waffling...
Thanks Vosur, I'm glad I was able to put across the feel I was aiming for.

Thanks. Frog is just awesome, the whole conflict with him and Magus makes things interesting when/if the pair are in your party working together. His backstory is as you say: large and deep. Frog goes from being a badass when you first meet him to a hero with little self-esteem and then with the masamune back into being a badass.
