Mewtwo deities sometimes have to... remind their respective worlds that they can and do mean business sometimes with the whole "Thou Shalt Not Kill" type stuff. If enough worshippers stray from the path of kindness and empathy, they may need to have their god's Mark on the Moon in order to properly nudge them back to the path of non-destruction.
