Is that the tip of his tail to the right? Anyway, nice shading, there. It definitely creates a 3D effect.

To color this in, did you use a paint bucket? If so, you might consider adjusting its settings so that it fills areas better, and doesn't leave so many visual artifacts. Also, what paint program are you using? I am pretty well versed in Krita at this point, if you need any tips.


I also like that yellow eye.

And congratulations on your reference. Just know that at the rate you're going, he'll probably look completely different a year from now :).

So many questions, right in order, yes: it's the tail maw, Yes: will bump up sensitivity, Sketchbook by Autodesk, the yellow eye is his feral mode: where he goes from cute and cuddly Derg to apex predator. And finally its all a constant WIP
