Ah, Ableton. I'm really starting to like this program. :) I'm down at home for the long weekend and really wanted to get this mix cranked out before the first of June, so I fiddled around with Ableton until I was able to mix with it.
The result is fan-fucking-tastic. :3 My favorite aspect is that this is MUCH higher quality than my usual recording method. Usually I mix live using Traktor and my mixer, sending the output back to the laptop to record the analog output. The mixer is old and cheap, so the analog signal comes through pretty dirty a lot of the time. This mix it's pure digital, straight from the source audio files. X3 The sound is amazing.
The mix will be posted either later tonight or tomorrow morning. :) Be on the lookout for the journal announcing it!

Yeah, when I first started I wanted to use Logic to do my mixes but Ableton has tempo control, unlike Logic (that I'm aware of.) With Ableton I just tell it the tempo I want (or use one of the automation tracks to change it globally), tell each tune how I want to render the tempo change (re-pitch, or warp), and let it go. With Logic I'd have to go into the Tempo/Groove control and manually rerender each tune to one global tempo. x_x
I think I'll still stick with Logic for production (whenever I really get into that) but I know some artists use Ableton so I'll probably try my paw at that too. ^^
