1959, Damian had made much great progress over the years since he joined the UDB9 agency. He became a very experienced spy. The one thing that took him a while was learning to hold his breath underwater.

Damien went through various breath holding exercises such as wearing a water mask, swimming in an enclosed water tank. Damien even went through breath training while he was in peril and what made it even more painful, was he had to wear a suit and tie. His tight shirt collar and tie made holding his breath more difficult, but necessary.

One day, Damien was called in by his mentor Albert for another training exercise. Damien was wearing a gray line three-piece suit with a mixed-purple tie. The co-agents took Damien into a steel room that contained a wooden pillar. The agents then took out sets of rope, pulled Damiens arm behind his back and tied them up. Damien the had his back pressed against the pillar. The agents then tied rope around his chest and legs good and tight.

The agents then left the room and sealed it up. Damien then watched as water came out of drainage holes in the ceiling and began filling the room with water. Damien heard Albert on the intercom and explained the exercise while the room filled up. As soon as he was submerged underwater, Damien had to break free of his bond and try to escape from the room.

Damien could feel the water soaking his suit and getting into his shoes. He tilted his head upward as the water reached his neck. Damien inhaled deeply and his head was submerged in water. Albert and the other agents were watching Damien through a glass window. To their surprise, Damien didn’t budge at all. He just kept a serious expression as he stayed still.

While the room was filling with water, Damien was thinking of a way to escape. He planned on letting the water soften the rope and pillar and he would break free from it. But Damien could feel he was bound tighter than ever. Albert and he others continued to watch Damien, waiting to see how he would make his escape.
