Oh, you know, there was this Chinese movie in 2011, 'The Sorcerer and the White Snake', I wonder if one of the shots in that film at all inspired the layout that the commissioner chose..?

Nope, I actually did not know they showed the two in that form in that movie!

But I have seen last year's animated movie White Snake. There's a ton of great reference material in that one~

And I may be putting that movie higher up on my watch-list now >3>

Them hanging around in snake form only really happens in the beginning, the rest of the movie has both snakes pretending to be human almost the whole time.
