And we are thrown back in time with the introduction of Dewey Decimal's rather unique parents, the boisterously large Tawdry Tails and the rather dainty "Fragrant" Hyacinth, seen here in her school years shortly after the very large mare threw herself into some bullying that was being inflicted on the smaller unicorn and kicked the ass of everyone involved. When you're the size of a clydesdale-esque horse around smaller ponies, SMASH becomes a very viable option when you want to protect the cute little guy you've got your eye on.

She would grow up to write a romance novel series, the pony equivalent of Harlequin, "Hoofbeats of Passion"
He would grow up to be an absolutely fabulous fashion model with ties to Hoity Toity.

Together, they made Dewey. And that's great.
