This is a gift for my best friend, who has stuck with me longer than anyone else in my life outside my family (though I do think of Kenshin as family too). Our 11-year friend-iversary is this Friday, but I couldn't wait until then to post this c: Nugget, here's to many more years goofing off and being total trash together!
Pictured are Judah (belonging to Kenshin), and Goshen (mine). They are Anubian-style jackals that work together as ushers of the dead. Judah has the stronger personality of the two, but they balance each other out. While Judah is charged with the task of actually harvesting the souls that are slated for the afterlife, Goshen is the shepherd (hence the shepherd's crook) that guides the souls where they're supposed to go. Many souls underestimate Goshen because he is quiet and peaceful in comparison to his counterpart. They perceive Judah as the harsh one. But then they realize that Goshen will deliver them to where they are supposed to go, even if it's not where they think they should be. "Your soul was measured by one superior to me, and this is your eternity," he'll insist sternly. He has to get aggressive occasionally when a soul thinks they can choose another destination.
