specially on board of a hurricane, they are used mainly during France and Britain battle (waiting being replaced by spifires as main fighter) that plane was outclassed in performance compared to the Me109 but remained a great menace for german bombers and zerstörers like the Me110. Nice shot and you're lucky to visit that museum :)
In fact statically Hurricane had more kills under their belt , due to the fact they were given the task of hunting down the bombers, spitfires were given the task of intercepting the escorting fighters. Harkens did have one trick up its sleeve, they hand a tighter turning circle compared Me 109s
