This picture has the exact energy of an early boss/enemy in a game that I love way more than any of the PC's (all human of course) that I'm desperate will become a party member or otherwise playable, but never does. I'm also overcome with a desire to snuggle next to him to keep cold in a snowstorm if that makes any sense.
There's no specific game I can really point to directly. But the best way to put it is just to point at the "Tales of " series of games. The cast is always just random anime characters (but one time also a dog) so if I would ever run into like a minotaur, werewolf, dragon or even a robot I'd always think to myself 'god I wish I could be playing that instead. Like games with amazing design in general tend to have the problem of awesome creature design for enemies, but that makes the generic protagonist all the more excruciating.
I can think of one exception to prove the rule though. In Streets of Rage 3 one of the first bosses was an asshole with a whip and a kangaroo in street thug clothing. With the whip asshole making him fight you. Well if you didn't kill the kangaroo and just beat up the guy with the whip the kangaroo would just run away and end the fight, but if you continued after doing that Roo became a playable character you could select. But that's like the only time it ever happened.
So I guess I'm saying it has the same vibe as getting to the boss of an old school beat em up where it stops your characters with a new enemy on screen, only for the clouds in the background to part to reveal the moon and we get an awesome sprite based TF sequence ending with this guy and 10 year old me so hyped for how cool it was but knowing I wouldn't get to play him and would instead be stuck playing some kid with a baseball bat or something.

Aww Thank you!! ♥♥
I was talking to a friend that sometimes I get 'quality jumps' every 10 pieces or so.. haha!
I've been on this current level for a few pieces... let's see in around 10 more if I can make it better! ♥
But yeah, every piece I stop and self evaluate what I could have done better... and take notes on it...
Besides, I've been studying 1 hour each day... so with each piece I add a tiny bit of improvement.. :p

I love this, it reminds me of BloodyRoar.
By itself it is beautiful work, I have so much trouble drawing fur. This is just gorgeous with the warm lighting of the full moon against the cool blue of the fur. It flirts with both realism against the lighting and fantasy in the shade.
Great work on the huge chest and the more compact abs for the torso! It really makes the character seem more like an animal, and certainly shows more of a threat having the limps look the most prominent.

Aww! Thank you for the kind words!!
Yeah, I'm still not 100% sure on the way I draw fur, I think it always can be better, hahaha! but I use smudge brushes for that and some hair brushes I got in the internet...
'Real' Realistic fur is hard.. haha
And yeah, the proportions are more for a buffed wolf than a human... a true furry! haha :D
