This is a brand-new piece of traditional art which I've drawn of a new character of mine, Lucy Feraux.
She started as a VRChat avatar, which apparently I ROCK as, so much so that several of my friends urged that I make a character inspired after her and use her more often.
So that's precisely what I've been doing!
This is based upon a running joke between one of my VRChat friends who pretended Lucy's his mom, and it just kinda stuck. She's kinda a chill, confident, high-rollin' biker mom.
As far as quality goes, I'm unexpectedly torn between this piece. I'll start with the parts I DO like: Her head, tail, clothes, and (oddly), the adoption papers. Her face is proportionate, smooth, and expressive, while the experimentation I did on her hair, tail, and ears was a smashing success.
The "stiff black leather" design I implemented turned out better than I thought it would, since I usually go for smooth or baggy clothing. It added quite the robust spark to her design, which was a pleasant unintended consequence. And, might I say, how the heck does my writing WITHIN a drawing look better than my writing on a whole page?? LOL
Contrary to my positive accomplishments, her core looks like it's spliced in from some of my earlier art. Her breasts are uncomfortably irregular, while something's just not quite right with her hips. Thing is, I even used an artist's figurine to model her pose! I guess it can't accommodate fo body type...
Not to mention I got overzealous with the silver pen I used to add a metallic sheen to parts of her jacket, fingernail polish, piercings, sparkles, and- EYES... Her eyes are where I overstepped- I tried to use silver to add highlights. BOTH of her irises are supposed to be brilliant lapis, but the silver melded with the pigment and just turned a slate gray... Now there's only a speck of blue in her left eye. This mistake might have done the most damage to the quality of my girl out of all the others.
I plan on drawing dis bitch again at some point. I may just need to develop her design a bit more in order to get those pesky mistakes minimalized. It's all about how I LEARN from them, after all...
