I rarely smile either. When I had professional photos taken a couple years ago I told the photographer that smiling pictures weren't natural for me. He came up with some great shots where I looked relaxed instead of the usual "one big happy" stuff you usually see. The one I selected for Christmas cards that year was half-lighted with a black background. I got a few comments on how much that picture looked like the real-life me.

this guy i know who's a great photographer always tells me "ignore the camera and it will love you" but so far that doesn't seem to help a whole lot more :D

It's this problem I have. Like, when I'm walking downtown and I see the pretty goth tweens, with their artfully paled skin and their velvet and leather and spikes and collars and dark black makeup and nail polish. . .

I have this urge to run up and hug them and squeal and pat them on their heads and tell them how sweet they look. They make me want to offer them cookies (with little frosting bats on them). I really do think they're just adorable! Some people respond to small children. I respond to goths, punks, and other "I never smile" types. Go figure.

Feel free to ignore my undignified gushing. I'm like a dog person trying to play with cats, that's all.

oh god, no no no, i take that back. :D he says it to me about five times a day, even after five years. he says it if i feel like i look like i got hit by a mack truck. and it means a lot coming from someone as flawlessly gorgeous as he is.

i just don't get it online so much. probably because i take such bad pictures! LOL~
