It's all based on Lucius Lupus.

What is their name? Why are they named that?

His name is Lucius Lupus.
His name is that way because I wanted him to have a meaningful name along with an alliterative one.
"Lucius" means "light" which hints his affinity for white clothing and his white colored irises.
"Lupus" means "wolf" and... well, he's a wolf!
