My beloved cat, Dragon, whom I just lost. He was the cat that I got, when I first moved away from my childhood city, to live by myself. He, and Whiskey, whom I also lost this year, represent major chapters of my life. Dragon was more than a pet. He was a friend. I will always remember that time he and I were on the balcony of my old apartment, staring out into the nearby woods, and he looked at me, and placed a single paw on my shoulder, in an all-too-human gesture of affection.
