It's not easy to find a far unbroken horizon around here. Although Manitoba is actually flatter than Sask, you don't see it because of all the trees. I'm looking forwards to the huge flocks of geese that will be camping out on these fields. Oh, and the eagles.

There's nothing quite like that powerful vibe I get during that brief time when I can actually image that sucker. You have two minutes at most from when it broaches the horizon (didn't get those shots this time as I had a camera mount tripod thingie kafuffle) and when it unleashes it's full fury, and then it's get that camera & scope pointed somewhere else or watch your equipment go up in smoke.
Yep! First pic taken at 5:29:00 am, ISO 200 and started with 1/500 shutter speed. Last shot taken at 5:30:30 and I'd already dialed it up to 1/4000! Sure highlights how well set up you have to be. When Theo and I do shots of him silhouetted on horseback we will have 2-way radios to coordinate. Razor thin! And if you don't get it, well... gee Brain, what are we going to do tomorrow night?
