Ugh, forgive me for the horrible title.
I'm still trying to get a good grasp on shading. Bear with me, please.
So there I was, thinking on what to draw, and browsing through my copy of the book 'The Art of Kung Fu Panda' I came across the concept design of Tony Siruno's character design of Po (Which I admit is my favorite version of Po, not that I don't love Po's final design used in the movie!), and so, my mind began to work.
Essentially this is my attempt at drawing Tony Siruno's version of Po. Those who own the book can find his version of Po on page 20, 24 and 27.
Yes, I know Tony's Po also wears a pair of shorts, but I couldn't help but give him a pair of LONG pants and a silk belt. Also I gave him a staff. *Shrugs*
This drawing also has a story attached.
Just a couple of months ago I began thinking and developing a new KFP story (This would make my third KFP story), which I'm still researching and planning for. What would be essentially a reboot or just a new take on the Kung Fu Panda story.
Basically, this would be Po's new look for the upcoming story.
And what is this new story about? You'll just have to wait. But there are hints in this scroll-like drawing.
Importantly, the title of the new story (Work in progress BTW) can be found on the lower right there.
Panda: Shen Mi Shie Jie
This roughly translates to 'Panda: Divine Mystical World.'
The Chinese writing at the top of the drawing, from left to right, are...
'Dragon Warrior'
'Magic'
'Gods'
'Chosen One'
'Pilgrim'
'Brand new world and story'
And the last Chinese words at the bottom are:
The five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, earth.
Special thanks to my bro Nikiski (http://nikiski.deviantart.com/) for helping me with the Chinese writing and title.
Po belongs to Dreamworks
Character design belongs to Tony Siruno
