After the final Splatfest (which totally ended up not actually being the final Splatfest 'cuz they're still doing them and oh gosh how has it already been over a year since Splatocalypse where did the time go), Pearl got it into her head that, since Chaos won, then clearly Off the Hook needed an image update to match what the people wanted. Of course, this wasn't new ground for Pearl at all (even if she still wanted to try something a little different from before), but the punk aesthetic was entirely new to Marina, who wasn't 100% sure about the idea - she had sided with Order for a reason, after all. Still, after much pestering from Pearl, she relented and put herself in the very capable hands of Inkopolis' top stylists.

"Just relax already, will ya? You're gonna look great, I promise!"

(Oh, and if anyone's wondering: I'm totally operating under the same logic seen in this animation when it comes to how the heck "hair"cuts work in a setting where everyone has tentacles instead. No pain or gore here!... Though I'd probably be careful about going to any sushi place in Inkopolis that's located right next to a salon, just in case.)
