If you've seen his sona, you'd understand why it's so easy to be drawn in by his tails.
You couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant day. The sun was beaming down over the park setting the perfect temperature, accompanied by the faintest gust of wind refreshing you with its gentle embrace. You’d taken a rest for the moment, sitting on a bench and simply watching the world go by; seeing so many others enjoy the day was rubbing off on you a little bit. But your attention was caught by a fox walking by you with a friendly wave, prompting you to give him a similarly warm look. That was when you noticed a thick bush of 7..8..9, nine tails flowing behind him. He was a kitsune! You gave yourself some leniency for not realising sooner; after all nine tails is more than even the common kinds of kitsune sported.
However it wasn’t until he began to pass you by that you noticed something even more peculiar about his tails. They were a myriad of vibrant hues, each one a different colour of the rainbow swaying behind him; the sight was practically dazzling. It was like watching a ballroom dance between all of the colours in the spectrum, each one of them adoring the rest as they mingled like lovers. But as the kitsune kept walking away, the display became harder to focus on; you weren’t prepared for it to be over so soon. Instinct brought you to your feet, a little off balance at first, before you took off after the colourful-tailed stranger, following a safe distance behind.
Your eyes never left the kitsune’s rear, each time his tails swung one way your head automatically followed; it was a miracle you hadn’t stumbled over the ground as you were hardly paying attention to it. Before long you had begun to match the rhythm of his stride, and more importantly the tempo of his swaying tails. Left and right, left and right; each step led your eyes in an arc after the fluffy rainbow behind him. Your feet were stepping to the same rhythm without even thinking about it; following his lead was just so easy when you kept your attention on his tails.
Eventually though, the kitsune glanced back at you with a knowing smile, almost making you stop in your tracks. Of course you didn’t actually stop walking until he did. The stranger turned to look at you side on, as if he was purposefully leaving his enthralling brushes on display for you. In fact with the way he was still swaying them even as he stood still, you were pretty sure it was on purpose. “See something you like?” he asked with that same warm smile. You blinked a couple times, regaining your senses and feeling your brain switch back on to answer the question. “Sorry; I think I just got a little distracted by your….” The words trailed off in your throat as the sunlight caught his vibrant appendages once more.
“My tails?” finished the stranger with a giggle. Your mind was elsewhere; all you could manage was a nod in response, not that the kitsune seemed to mind.
“My name is Sparky,” he said. “If you really want a better look, just follow me mmkay?” His demeanour was infectiously warm, or maybe that was the sunlight beating down on you; but either way you felt comfortable slinking along after Sparky. It didn’t take long for you to lose track of where you were being led once more. In your peripheral vision you noticed the treeline becoming denser and the passing crowds of strangers fading away; but all you really had eyes for was the rhythmically swishing fan of his tails. Their dance had become more intricate now, Sparky punctuating every step with a little flourish so that his tails would entwine with one another. Hues blended together to create the illusion of new colours before your eyes, as if the light was giving new life to his spellbinding appendages.
“This will do,” said Sparky, stopping suddenly once again. You almost tripped trying to catch your momentum, broken out of your stupor and able to take in your new surroundings. The kitsune had led you to a secluded opening within the treeline, far away from the conscious eyes of strangers. There was just enough sunlight breaching through the canopy to still catch in each of Sparky’s tails however; you were relieved. The prismatic brush swirled closer to you now as he stepped back, encircling you in the myriad of colourful fur; for a moment there was nothing you could see but a flowing rainbow. This time you did trip, backwards onto your rear with a soft thud. You didn’t mind so much however as the tails followed you down to continue smothering your vision.
Sparky giggled as he fanned out his tails like a peacock, weaving each appendage in between its neighbours like the most delicate fabric. You had to collect the last of your remaining strength to stop yourself from falling forward into the beguiling blanket of colours; but it didn’t stop your jaw from growing slack and heavy. You could feel the drool pooling in your lazy maw, but couldn’t do anything to stop it. You were completely ensorcelled by Sparky’s tails.
“You’re really enjoy the view, huh?” giggled the kitsune.
“Uhuhhh…” you lazily mumbled.
“I think you should come be my permanent tail brusher then.” The offer barely glanced over your mind, you were far too out of it to do anything but agree; until Sparky’s tails swayed down and back up, giving you no choice but to follow them and nod. It was only then that you noticed the weight of your head as drowsiness washed through your entire body. The heat of the sun and Sparky’s dazzling display before you had sapped you of all your strength.
“That settles it then! Guess you belong to my tails now,” cooed the kitsune. He was right, there was no way you could turn down the opportunity to worship such gorgeous tails every day and lose yourself in their rapturous dance.
