Kirsten was one of Dr Herienstein's many experiments, born from a combination of human and mantis DNA. When Herienstein's experiments were discovered, as well as the violent intentions he had with his creatures, he, along with the majority of his experiments, were executed, the only exception being any experiments of a relatively young age that still harbored innocence. Kirsten, being 4 at the time, was spared the incineration.
Kirsten was sent to live with a rather eccentric bug expert who, despite owning many insect pets, treated Kirsten like a daughter. Due to being considered a 'monster', she wasn't allowed to attend a normal school, and had to be home schooled. It was there that Kirsten developed a love of reading and language, able to speak fluently in 5 different languages and had read thousands of books of many different genres by the time she had hit her 20s. It was around Kirsten's teenage years that monsters and humans were beginning to reach some level of peace, and a school for monsters was created. Once Kirsten was old enough, she sent an application to the school and was able to prove herself more than capable to take a librarian job, and adores it. She loves the enthusiasm of children and teens as she helps teach them to read and offer them great stories to get lost in. This enthusiasm is something she shares with Sheila, and the two get along rather well. Although, Sheila does have a considerably lower tolerance for troublemakers, and will step in on Kirsten's behalf whenever any of the kids (or adults) attempt to mock or take advantage of her kind nature.
She wasn't completely sheltered growing up, and regularly hung out with the other experiment survivors. But she still has a handful of basic social issues, one of the bigger issues is her being brutally honest and not keeping her mouth shut when she should. Thankfully this hasn't gotten her into deep trouble...yet.
Trying to get back into the swing of things and decided to revive a real old character. Very few may remember her, as there was only one real sketch done of her, but she seemed like a character people enjoyed.
I also wanted to develop this whole monster/human world concept, and at some point I'll have a proper ref for Sheila, as well as other characters.

Would actually like to see more of this cutie actually! I like the design and her lil backstory is quite nice, and I do like this sneak peak into the world building of your characters too! Also really like the lil lines by her one claw. I assume it's cause she's waving, and it makes her even cuter.
