I just had Nubs run around the top floor in his ball. Oh god I laughed so hard, it was the cutest thing ever. Also hilarious, considering he ran into the same door like 5 times. I had to watch him and block the stairway though ;;
Then I plopped him back in his house and gave him a cucumber slice ;3;
hnghhh I just hold it to him and he grabs it from me with his little hammiehands <33333 /dies a million times over
HERE HE IS, maxin and relaxin with a cuke.

I seriously want ha hamster noooooooow!!!! ;A;
I used to have some when I was a kid, but they were never really mine since my parents always took care of them for me. Now I want one again. Do you have any advice about how to take care of one and what kind of hamster to get behavior wise? What kind of things do I need to buy for my hamster? Help me out? :'D

I'm only a noob hamster owner (this is my first one), but I can tell you it's pretty easy to take care of them lol ;;. I haven't had any problems so far. I guess the most common advice is to clean their cage 1-2 times a week depending on how bad it is etc or if you're sensitive to smell. I got little activated charcoal things to attach to the lid of my cage (they're made for animal cages/litter boxes) so I don't have any problems with smell c:
As for type, I guess it depends on what you want. I've read that regular hamsters are more friendly than dwarves, but I chose a dwarf because I like their size. Nubs has mellowed out a lot and isn't cranky, so I think it's really just a situational kind of thing. Also the place I got Nubs, an employee there hand breeds the hamsters in small batches, so they're probably more used to human contact than ones at a pet store ;;
And your basic to-buy list: cage, bedding, house, wheel, water bottle, food dish, chew toy, food, ball, treats (this one is optional). Along with Nubs, everything I bought came out to $70 - it may be more expensive at a chain petstore, I bought mine at a small place. But after that, they're really cheap! Bedding lasts a good while if you don't use too much, and a big bag of food will last too. Also, passing on advice people gave me: when buying a wheel, try and get a solid (not a bar/wire one) plastic one that is silent. They're nocturnal so they run a lot at night, and you don't want the wheel keeping you up haha.
YEAHHH WALL OF TEXT! Online is a good resource for basic knowledge too c:

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the advice. I think I may still have a pet cage for them that is almost all plastic except for the little door. I always worried for small animals with the wire wheels. What if their tiny legs got stuck?! Anyway, thank you so much for the help, and I have decided on getting a gerbil. <3 Luckily my mom works at Walmart so we can get ten percent off on pet supplies and what not. If you'd like, I'll take pictures and send you a link or two when I get the gerbil, which will be very soon. ^^ Thanks so much for helping me, I cant say it enough.
