OK then... I had just enough material to cover her with. The individual pieces were tacked into place using a desk stapler. These staples are all pulled after the glue sets.
Doping the fabric is done with a 50/50 mixture of common white glue and water. When it drys I am always amazed at the shrinkage which makes everything nice and tight.
Then it's just a matter of paint. Last time I used spray cans. That worked well and has a nice look. This time, I exclusively used Behr latex paint, which was brushed on, and works equally well. The wonderful thing about latex - it is purely a soap and water clean up.
Next I have to paint on the decals, and that should be a lot of fun. I also have plans for an engine noise maker just to mess with the parents.
Oh yes! Guns! We found two really nice and noisy machine gun sort of things at Big Lots, so I will be mounting those too.
Cheers for now,
V.

Man and machine and nothing there in between // A flying circus and a man from Prussia // The sky and a plane, this man commands his domain // The western front and all the way to Russia…
I suppose you'd not be able to stuff a small motor into the front to rotate the propeller (at a safe speed)?
As for the guns, going to rip out the audio modules from some toy guns and make props, or…?
…I don't suppose you could shove an Arduino in there with a speaker and a motion sensor, and have it play the 633 Squadron theme, Battle of Britain March, and/or other triumphant aircraft related music? (Don't actually do this.)

oh yes you made me smile... the propeller is attached to a turning wheel in the cockpit. As for the guns, we actually found two toy guns that make a wonderful sound and should nicely suffice...
As to 633 Squadron - (wonderful movie) I believe this was the movie the original Star Wars was based upon, and in that movie you will find a very young David McCallem, who, of late, appears on NCIS as Duckie.

Glad you like it. Been doing way too much Hero Forge - been on paid standby at work. Have to clock in via phone at 6 am and out at 10 if I'm not called to cover a security shift. Got bored and decided to make figures online. Saw the flying helmet and noticed you could scale the statue of the figure. Figured a Fennec would be about 3 foot or so tall. biker Jacket and some odd military pants done with leather colors make for a good old time flight suit
