Okay, in terms of things I wish I did better; what I think would really rock would be having Grendel be larger, and have a whole batch of Hrothgar's guys trying to mob him, so that you'd have an off-centered triangle composition that'd really point to Grendel. But I really really like the strong shadows and how they interact with the knotwork carved into the wall, and I'm not really sure how to stress that too without having it overwhelm the main point.
I dunno, there's always a next time. Meanwhile yeah, this wasn't so bad!
