When a new plague hit mankind, it was the growing population of mutant rats that were blamed. To deal with the problem, the PCE-TX 3000 was created to hunt them down and exterminate them. The cyber-felines proved more resilient than mankind and after humanity had perished, they remained, continuing their programmed task of hunting down and exterminating the mutant rat vermin.
Rodent had managed to survive for years, avoiding the mechanical hunters; but then one day, his luck ran out and he found himself cornered in an alley. Would he be quick enough to escape, or would the exterminator add one more target to his achievements?
I absolutely love how this came out. The details of the alleyway is fantastic at capturing the look and feel of the post-humanity world; and the robotic, feline exterminator is beyond amazing. Plus, Rodent looks great backed into the corner and trying to figure out some way out of this.
My thanks to Landing Zone for taking this commission and doing such an amazingly awesome job with it.

*laughs* Yeah, that's sort of what I was hoping for.
The theme was for a more futuristic version of the old cartoons where a robot cat was set loose to catch a mouse, and Landing Zone did a fantastic job coming up with the character.

Lovely stunning detail (and I love the backstory to this picture!).
So much rust and decay and breakdown of human society. Such an awesome backstory.
Rodent looks like he's not going to give up without a fight. There's a bit of survival determination inside of his eyes.
I like this picture!!!

heh. Yeah, I love the details to this one, and that look of determination in Rodent's eyes make it seem as if he has some hope of getting out of this alive.
Of course, if I went with the same encounter, but only 2 minutes in the future, there would be an entirely different look to it.
I love settings that take place just after the downfall of man, where there technology still survives in a state of decay, but man himself is no longer an important factor.
