Kinda both. I've been hyper aware of reflected light since I was a kid just because... well, it's pretty! But art school taught me how to properly handle reflected light and other stuff about light and color I wouldn't have known. =3

I feel bad, this piece at first glance was more of an, "Awe, how cute, that's cool."
And was easy to gloss over, but the more I stared at it, the more I could start to recognize many little details I would have missed out on.

Her tanktop strap playfully slouched over, the tiny scratches texturing the top of his jeans, and how many colors are laced in to give the piece an overall warm glow.

I'm glad I could appreciate effort and skill by taking the time to look, instead of just moving on after a quick glance.

Haha that's fine! I wanted to point out that I love the way you combined the fur for the ears and his hair, but I was too blown away by everything else xD And typos are to be expected - I do them alllll the time.

Man, oh man, this is something. Such fantastic character interaction. The details are remarkable, from the shape of her paw pads to the way his ear fur blends into his hair. This is one of my favorite pieces I've ever seen on this site.

Woow, this is one of your best works yet! The light, positions and textures are so wonderful it looks 3d o_o And that angle is sooo hard! I've been struggling with things like that for years! I wish I could have models to draw from, it'd help so much <_< Or at least take photos of them and then draw from the photo! Today I've been battling one of the hardest angles ever, straight down. It's hard when you're supposed to draw someone cuddling some other person who has curled up into a ball-like position xD

I often end up taking photos of myself doing weird things for general reference, then bend the anatomy to be what it needs to be for the piece. Helps out a lot!
