Well...these spurred thanks to me recently getting back into Civilization V, wanting to channel said addiction into something more productive, and thanks to a set of mods that not only downsizes them and adds more 'actors' per unit, made me think that they also got a downgrade in visuals to be akin to basic shapes on a skeleton. Ended up making a base for these little guys and next thing I know, I made several differing versions of them. Just the basic infantry units for now, none of the cavalry or artillery yet, but as these three can tell, I can easily change them to be differing nationalities and thus different units, with assorted props related to said factions and role.
From left to right are the general swordsman (only like this since I haven't really played all civilizations and thus seen the variants), Japanese Samurai, and a British-styled Musketman. They're fairly low poly, but I can easily make entire battalions of these little guys for bulk crowd pics, mainly in an attempt to emulate Civilization-esque scenes. They're also quite small, measuring only two inches in height, so they are quite literally toys, albeit animate cause why not. While they do fight when at 'war' with each other, the most that they'll do is just knock each other down with each clash. The gunpowder-era units fire small BBs that would just bounce off when they hit their targets, and so on.
